What is the job profile of a Scientific Officer in BARC?

Bhabha Atomic Research Centre is one of the most aspired destinations for budding scientists. BARC has it’s headquarter located in the city of Bombay, Mumbai, Maharashtra. Every year BARC invites applications for the post of Orientation Course for Engineers and Scientists (OCES).

BARC OCES’s selection process is a two-step process – An online Screening Test followed by a face-to-face interview. The candidates are initially selected for the OCES program and DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme. The candidates completing the OCES 2021 and DGFS course are recruited as Scientific Officers in DAE units or Atomic Energy Regulatory Board Officers. BARC Scientific Officer recruitment screening test was conducted in September 2021.

BARC Selection Process 2021

Step 1 Screening Test: The candidate needs to appear for the Screening Test held by BARC. The candidates need to score over the cut-off limit set by BARC to qualify for the Interview round.

Step 1 GATE Score: The candidates can also give the GATE exam and meet the GATE score cut-off set by BARC to get an interview call. Better GATE score opens up many avenues for the candidates, and they need to prepare hard for a call-up from BARC. You can prepare with BYJU’s Exam Prep for better score in GATE.

Step 2: Interview for BARC Scientific Officer

The candidates who meet the cut-off either by Screening Test or GATE score are called for the face-to-face Interview. The last step of the selection process and the candidates need to prepare well to succeed in the Interview round. The all-around skills of the candidates are assessed before the final selection.
